What breaks down constipation in the rectum?

Okay, I had surgery Saturday and I have to go remove my bowel, but it's so BIG and rock hard, (sorry don't mean to get gross) I put on gloves and I can feel it in my rectum but it won't p through the , is there anything to help break down that rock bowel so I can go. PLEASE anyone help me please!!!!!!!!!
